WHERE HOROLOGYBECOMES ARCHITECTURE.
"We believe the most extraordinary timepieces deserve to exist beyond the wrist.
Royaldsign Studio was founded on a single conviction: that the design language of the world's most remarkable watches is too extraordinary to be confined to a 40mm case.
We are a private atelier. We do not produce collections. We do not work to deadlines. We accept a small number of orders each year, and we give each one the full attention of our craft.
THE OBJECT AS AN EXTENSION OF THE TIMEPIECE.
Every order begins with a deep study of the watch that inspires it. We analyze its proportions, its finishing techniques, its material palette, and its mechanical logic before a single line is drawn.
We use no production shortcuts. Every surface is finished by hand. Every joint is fitted by eye. Every engraving is executed by a craftsman who has spent years learning the language of the piece.
Our objects are functional. A table must be a table. A desk object must serve its purpose. But function is the skeleton — the architecture of finishing, proportion, and material is the soul.
We create both bespoke pieces and editions. Our designs can be commissioned more than once, with every piece receiving the same care, precision, and attention to detail.
TECHNIQUES BORROWED FROM THE MOVEMENT.
The beveling and polishing of edges — a technique borrowed directly from movement finishing — is applied to every structural edge of our objects.
Circular graining applied to recessed surfaces, creating the same visual depth found on the bridges and plates of a grand complication.
Parallel striping applied to flat surfaces, referencing the decorative finishing tradition of the finest Swiss ateliers.
Specular polishing to a mirror finish on convex surfaces, requiring hours of progressive abrasion and final hand-buffing.
Directional brushing applied to flat surfaces, creating the contrast between matte and gloss that defines the visual language of haute horlogerie.
Fine abrasive blasting to create a uniform matte texture on recessed areas, referencing the frosted finishing found on movement components.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PIECE.
His solid background in electronics, hardware engineering, and mechanical design shapes his understanding of precision, function, and form. Through the studio, he applies an engineering perspective to bespoke furniture and sculptural objects, exploring how the intricate mechanisms and refined details of fine watchmaking can be expressed on a larger scale.
A background in architectural design and material research, bringing structural rigour and spatial thinking to every commission. Responsible for translating the client's vision into a precise design language before a single component is machined.
A telecommunications and automation engineer with over ten years of experience, he brings a precise, analytical approach to the studio, helping translate each piece's vision into thoughtful, technically grounded work.
EVERY DESIGN BEGINS WITH A CONVERSATION.
If you have a timepiece that inspires you, we would like to hear about it.
